Dr. Orf’s presentation will be during the SCAMS meeting on April 28th. It starts at 7:00pm and we will be have pizza as well.
Skywarn is April 18th from 2-4pm in Brooks 176. Get there at around 1:30pm.
MSU chapter hasn’t responded to any of Matt’s emails yet so we’re not quite sure on their standing in collaborating with us.

Sebastian talked about setting up a meteorology scholarship but needs to setup a general requirements before discussing this with higher up people. $25,000 is a realistic expectation for the scholarship(s).
Mark and Gene created a presentation for Severe Weather Awareness Week where they’ll go to a MET 240 class and discuss basic severe weather with them.
May 1st at Island Park at noon to around 9pm. A Facebook event has been created so join it to receive further updates. Also we’ll be going to Shaye’s at around 9-10pm for a get together.

Severe weather awareness week
Resume Workshop Feedback – Heather Masters was excellent and we’ll be planning on having it next semester.
Dr. Chad Gravelle, a GOES-R Satellite Liasion at the National Weather Service Operations Proving Ground in Kansas City, MO will be visting us this Friday. He will be presenting a one-hour seminar on “The Capabilities of the Next-Generation Geostationary Environmental Satellite System for Operational Meteorology” at 10:00 am in Brooks 305. This presentation will demonstrate the kinds of data and products that will be available one year from now. This satellite will revolutionize our ability to assess the atmosphere!
Students have the opportunity for a free lunch at Woldt Dining Hall with our guest at Noon. We only have 7 students signed up, so we have lots of room for more! Please sign up here:
Also, Dr. Gravelle will be presenting an informal discussion/Q&A at 1:30 pm, after lunch, in Brooks 306. Here, he will discuss such things as the differences between grad school and undergrad, his path to becoming a research scientist, and what it is like to be one.
